The new Walmart Rewards Program helps you earn savings on future Walmart purchases!
Walmart Rewards is just one of many perks for Plus members!
Here’s yet another reason to consider becoming a Walmart+ member! They’ve partnered with Ibotta to offer a free rewards program exclusively for their paid members to earn cash back rewards after shopping for everyday items.
If you’re familiar with Ibotta, the rewards are virtually identical. There are literally HUNDREDS of items offering rewards across every category including groceries, personal care products, household essentials, toys, entertainment, and more. We’re not talking about store-brand items either. Save on the most popular name brands including products from P&G, Unilever, SC Johnson, and Mattel.
Plus many of these offers are available to redeem exclusively at Walmart. You can view all the current rewards by logging into your Walmart account and heading here.
Once a reward item is purchased, delivered, or picked up, the value of each item reward is deposited into your Walmart Rewards balance. You don’t need to take any pictures of your receipt or upload anything. You can then redeem your balance on future purchases in Walmart stores or online. Easy peasy!

To get started earning Walmart Rewards, you must have a paid Walmart+ membership. You can opt to pay the current recurring monthly fee of $12.95 and cancel at any time OR snag a full year for $98 (just $8.17 per month). You can head here to see everything being a member has to offer.
Keep in mind that your membership can quickly pay for itself by taking advantage of the Walmart Rewards Program. Just like Ibotta, many offers can be redeemed up to 5 times on the same item. Your rewards balance can grow FAST while you stock up on everything your family needs at great everyday low prices.
Plus, as a member, you’ll score free shipping with no minimum or free delivery on orders of $35+. That just makes it even easier to earn those rewards without even having to leave home!
Easily save when shopping at Walmart in stores or online!
When shopping online, you can find and add item rewards from the reward center, search bar, or product page. Once you find your item(s), tap “Add reward” to save the reward to your account. If you’re shopping in-store, you can find and add item rewards using the barcode scanner found in the Walmart app. You can also click the circled ‘i’ to get all the details for each individual offer.
Once you purchase, pick up or get your items delivered, your earned item rewards will appear in your Walmart Rewards balance, which can be found in your Walmart account wallet and Reward Center.
Note that if you attempt to redeem an offer on Ibotta that was previously redeemed via Walmart Rewards, your cash back request will be denied. Also, most cash back offers cannot be combined with any other coupons.

To use your Walmart Rewards Program balance, be sure you are signed into your Walmart account online or in the app. At checkout, scan the Walmart Pay QR code with the Walmart app or your phone.
If you’re shopping online, tap “Apply Walmart Rewards” in the Wallet section to redeem your Walmart Rewards balance and select how you would prefer to pay for any remaining amount.
Note that Walmart Rewards can only be used at Walmart and there is no cash-out option.
Forget to scan the QR Code in-store? No problem!
To earn item rewards, you can also scan your receipt barcode within seven days of purchase. To do this, sign into your Walmart account in the app and go to Rewards Center tools and tap “Submit your receipt”. Scan the barcode on your store receipt. You will then be credited your Walmart Rewards balance with the item rewards.
Your Walmart Rewards Program balance cannot be redeemed for the purchase of gift cards, prescription-related products, pharmacy purchases, optical products and services, alcoholic beverages, tobacco, firearm and ammunition products, lottery tickets, and financial services. In my opinion, this is just another amazing benefit to being a Walmart+ member. Initially, I had signed up as a monthly member. Once I realized how often I was using it, I jumped on an offer for a discounted annual membership and never looked back. The program perks just seem to keep growing and as a long-time Ibotta user, it doesn’t get any easier than checking a box and making a purchase! Some of the rewards can be pretty high value too, so it’s a great incentive to try out new products.
